Lee M. Moss | Chairman & Chief Executive Officer


Moss is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MidSouth Bank. He serves on the Bank’s Loan and Executive Committee (Executive Chairman), Trust Committee (Chairman), Asset/ Liability Committee and Executive Leadership Committee (Chairman). Mr. Moss graduated from Hillwood High School in Nashville in 1969, where he lettered in all sports and served as President of his senior class. In 1973, Mr. Moss graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Banking. He served as Treasurer of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, served on the Vol Corps, and on the Undergraduate Alumni Council.

Mr. Moss worked for Valley Fidelity Bank in Knoxville for one year after graduation from UT, and then worked 28 years with Third National Bank/SunTrust Bank in Nashville.  He served in numerous leadership capacities in both the Retail and Commercial divisions of the bank, and in January 1995, he moved to Murfreesboro where he served as Regional President, overseeing Rutherford and Wilson Counties. He graduated from the National Commercial Lending School in 1978 and the Graduate School of Banking of the South in 1983. In January 2003, Moss served as one of the organizers for MidSouth Bank.

Mr. Moss has been very active in each of the communities in which he has lived. In Nashville, he served as President of The University of Tennessee (Davidson County) Alumni Chapter, UT National Alumni Board, President of the Downtown Optimist Club, and Secretary of the American Cancer Society. He also served as a TSSAA high school basketball official for 26 years. Since moving to Murfreesboro, Mr. Moss currently serves as Chairman of Middle Tennessee Medical Center’s Board, member of Saint Thomas Health Services Board in Nashville, MTSU Wesley Foundation Board Member, Business Education Partnership Board, and as a Sunday School teacher and Administrative board member for First United Methodist Church. He previously served as a member of the College of Business Administration Advisory Council at MTSU, Chairman of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the United Way, President of the Discovery Center, National President of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, President of the American Heart Association, and Trustee of the MTSU Foundation. Moss is a graduate of Leadership Rutherford and Leadership Middle Tennessee.  Mr. Moss was the recipient of MTSU’s 2005 Champion of Free Enterprise, the Chamber of Commerce’s 2006 Business Person of the Year, and as the Y’s 2012 Humanitarian of the Year.


Dallas G. Caudle, Jr. | President & COO

Caudle is the President and Chief Operating Officer MidSouth Bank, as well as serving on the Bank’s Loan/Compliance/Executive Committee (Loan Chairman), Asset/Liability Committee (Chairman) and Executive Leadership Committee. He was an organizer of the Bank, and he first joined the board of directors in 2005. Mr. Caudle received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University. He continued his education through the American Institution of Banking; Tennessee School of Banking at Vanderbilt University, and the National Automated Clearing House Association’s The Payment Institute at the University of Colorado. Mr. Caudle began his banking career in 1971 at Murfreesboro Bank & Trust Company (now SunTrust Bank). He started as a Management Trainee, and within two years was promoted to Branch Manager. When Murfreesboro Bank & Trust moved to its new location in 1978, Mr. Caudle became the Data Processing Manager. Other positions he held while with the bank included Bank Operations Manager; Marketing and Product Development; Corporate Services Manager; and Commercial Lending Officer.

Mr. Caudle has been active in professional organizations throughout his 37 years in banking. He is serving on the board of directors of the Tennessee Automated Clearing House Association (TACHA). He has also served as past president of TACHA, as a board member of the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) and as a NACHA Education and Training committee member. Mr. Caudle has been very active in the Rutherford County community. He was a member of the Murfreesboro Historic Zoning Commission for 21 years and has served as chairman. In 1991 he was a graduate of Leadership Rutherford and has been a board member. Other affiliations in which Mr. Caudle is involved include board of directors and current Chair of Main Street; Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 416 for 20 years; a board member of the Middle Tennessee Medical Center Foundation and head of the investments and grants committee; Eta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity House Corporation President; and City of Murfreesboro Comprehensive Land Use committee member. Mr. Caudle was honored with the Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award from Sales & Marketing Executives of Nashville in 1994. Because of his extensive involvement with the Boy Scouts, he was presented with the Long Rifle Award by the Trail of Tears District Middle Tennessee Council Boy Scouts of America.

Kevin D. Busbey | Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Cashier

Busbey was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama. He came to Middle Tennessee in 1981 to attend college at David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University) in Nashville, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

After a very brief stint in public accounting, he started his banking career in 1986 as an Internal Auditor at Commerce Union Bank (now Bank of America) and worked there for a little over five years. He joined First City Bank in Murfreesboro as the bank’s Auditor and Compliance Officer, and two years later I moved into the role of Controller. In 1996, Capital Bank & Trust Company (now Renasant Bank) hired Busbey as their CFO, and he worked there until 2007. Busbey joined MidSouth Bank as CFO October 2007.

Kevin and his wife Lori, have been married since January 1990. They have three children, Caroline, Jackson and Samuel. They are members of the Granny White Church of Christ in Nashville. He serves as President on the board of New Heights Christian Community Services, a non-profit organization that focuses on helping children in an economically challenged area of West Nashville by providing school supplies, clothes, after-school homework assistance and other activities and services.

D. Edwin Jernigan, Jr., LUTCF, ChFC | Executive Vice President, Investments

Jernigan is a life-long resident of Murfreesboro. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1986. Upon his graduation from Oakland, he attended Auburn University on a four-year Army R.O.T.C. scholarship where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance). After college, he served in the United States Army as an officer and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot-in-command.

Prior to joining MidSouth Bank, Jernigan was Owner and President of The Jernigan Agency, a full service insurance and financial consulting firm representing numerous insurance and financial services companies from 1994 to 1997. In 1997, he joined SunTrust Banks, Inc. as Vice President of Investments. He was responsible for all aspects of office operations including office management; customer service; fiduciary accounts; investment account management; and professional development. He is licensed in property, casualty, life, and health insurance, and maintains Series 7, 63, 65, and 9/10 securities registrations. Jernigan’s professional accreditations include Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). He serves as Financial Executive with RJFS.

In addition to his busy professional schedule, Jernigan participates in many community and civic organizations. He has served or is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors for The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring; Chairman of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Commission; member of the Board of Directors for Murfreesboro Young Life; and member of the Murfreesboro Golf Commission.

He, his wife Sheri Freeman Jernigan, and sons, Trey and Parker, are active members of the First United Methodist Church. When not at work, Dee enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, swimming, and the outdoors.

Lisa A. Taylor | Senior Vice President, Private Banking

Taylor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. Her emphasis was in marketing with minors in business and commercial art. Taylor began her banking career in 1981 at Murfreesboro Bank & Trust (now SunTrust) as a Teller and Financial Sales Consultant. Her career background includes responsibility for retail training, marketing support, and relationship management in a key branch and personal banking rolls. In her last role she served as a Business Banking Relationship Manager. Taylor is a past recipient of the Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award sponsored by Sales & Marketing Executives of Nashville.

Taylor’s community involvement includes being a long time supporter of United Way including the Robertson Association and past Allocation Panel member, member Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association local board member, and Treasurer for Friends of Fenton Payne & Fred, a non-profit organization that raises funds for local health & fitness related charities through an annual 5K Run. She is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Rutherford and past Advisory Board member, past board member and chair for the BBB Advisory Board, Central Tennessee Region, and was a former board member for Heaven Sent Children.

Lisa, her husband, Terry, and son, Corey, are members of the First United Methodist Church where she served as a past member of the Administrative Board and former Chair of the Finance Committee.

Tony Hicks | Senior Vice President, Branch Administrator, Compliance Officer & Security Officer

Hicks recently graduated from the LSU Graduate School of Banking. He received a business administration and human resources degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where he graduated summa cum laude. He began his banking career at SunTrust in 1990 and served the LaVergne Market for many years.

Hicks is an active member in the community, serving currently with the Noon Rotary Club in Murfreesboro and a member of the East Camp of the Gideons International in Murfreesboro. He formerly has served in the LaVergne Rotary Club Board of Directors and the President of the Board of Directors for the Smyrna Senior Citizens Center. He also served on the Board of the Smyrna/LaVergne Food Bank as President.

Hicks is an active keyboard player for the Southern Gospel Quartet called Temple. He serves as a supply for Ministers of Music in the Rutherford and Davidson County area.
He and his wife Jamie have two children, Madelyn and Brantley. They also have two grandchildren, Callie and Allie.

Leath Ann Pomeroy | Senior Vice President

Pomeroy received a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Finance from the University of Tennessee.

Pomeroy began her career at Third National Bank in Nashville 27 years ago. She held various positions at other financial institutions, primarily in middle market commercial lending and underwriting, before joining MidSouth Bank in July 2006.

In her role as Senior Vice President, Pomeroy is currently overseeing numerous projects related to managing the bank’s asset quality, asset/liability management, and the implementation of numerous new bank products and services. Pomeroy is instrumental in the development and oversight of loan policy and related compliance procedures and processes. During her tenure at MidSouth Bank, Pomeroy has overseen the launch and management of key business products and services, as well as well as overseeing the treasury management and credit areas. She has also served in a training capacity, developing resources and facilitating training in all these areas.

Pomeroy has been involved in various community activities including tutoring and supporting community projects through her church. Pomeroy was awarded the Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award while at a former financial institution.

She and her husband, Randall, live in Hendersonville with their children, Jamie and Alli. They are actively involved with Springhouse Worship and Arts Center in Smyrna.
