HISTORY

Proposed new main office location, One East College Street, Murfreesboro
The MidSouth journey began in January 2003 when founders Jack O. Weatherford,
Lee Moss, and Ben Weatherford announced their plans to establish a locally
owned community bank. They recognized the need for a new bank with two key
ingredients. The first was to have a broad base of ownership comprising
Rutherford County residents and secondly, to have experienced, successful
bankers who are passionate about the community.
This combination of expertise and passion led MidSouth to become the highest
capitalized new bank in the history of Tennessee. Organizers received
tremendous community response as individuals subscribed to over $30 million
dollars in stock in less than five months from the initial subscription date.
The overwhelming support from the community confirmed the need the executive
team recognized for a second locally owned Rutherford County bank.
MidSouth's solid beginnings and its location in the fastest growing
county in the state puts it on the road to further success.

COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY
MidSouth Bank is committed to serving the entire community now, and into
the future. This commitment began early with the decision to open in one
of Murfreesboro's most recognized historic structures. The former First
United Methodist Church building was preserved from possible demolition
when it was purchased by MidSouth organizers in July 2003. Erected in
1886, the 117-year-old sanctuary survived the devastating tornado of
1913. It will be preserved as the future lobby and cornerstone of our
main office. Preservation of this notable structure not only provides a
beautiful building to call home, it also further evidences our
commitment to the community and its heritage.
The former sanctuary's gymnasium will be remodeled to serve as the bank's
temporary lobby with drive-up window capabilities. Along with general
renovations of the building, a 17,000 square foot addition will be constructed
adjacent to the lobby along East College Street. The addition has been
designed to complement the historical architecture of the original building,
while offering modern conveniences.
In addition to the Murfreesboro offices, customers will be served from day
one by a second, full-service location in Smyrna at 201C South Lowry Street.
This will function as a temporary location while the permanent office is
constructed in the north end of the county. Both the permanent headquarters
in Murfreesboro and the Smyrna Office are scheduled to be completed in the
fall of 2004. Plans are in place to continue adding new locations in order to
better serve those who live and work in Rutherford County.
