Allen is the President of Venture Express, Inc.; Creative Transportation; Allen's Cartage Company, Lavergne, Tennessee and co-owner of Center Hill Marine & Yacht Club. He is active in all phases of transportation and has served as past Chairman of Tennessee Trucking Association and President of Nashville Motor Freight. He also served as Chairman of the Nashville Traffic Association.

       Allen attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee and the University of Tennessee in Nashville.

       He formerly served as a member of the Board of Directors of Rutherford Bank & Trust, Murfreesboro and Independent Bankshares Corp., Gallatin, Tennessee.

       Allen's professional accomplishments include being selected as Nashville Business Journal's Executive of the Year. He is a supporter of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

       Allen and his wife, Donna, have four children and five grandchildren. They attend North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro.
