    Busbey was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama. He came to Middle Tennessee in 1981 to attend college at David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University) in Nashville, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

    After a very brief stint in public accounting, he started his banking career in 1986 as an Internal Auditor at Commerce Union Bank (now Bank of America) and worked there for a little over five years. He joined First City Bank in Murfreesboro as the bank’s Auditor and Compliance Officer, and two years later I moved into the role of Controller. In 1996, Capital Bank & Trust Company (now Renasant Bank) hired Busbey as their CFO, and he worked there until 2007. Busbey joined MidSouth Bank as CFO October 2007.

    Kevin and his wife Lori, have been married since January 1990. They have three children, Caroline, Jackson and Samuel. They are members of the Granny White Church of Christ in Nashville. He serves as President on the board of New Heights Christian Community Services, a non-profit organization that focuses on helping children in an economically challenged area of West Nashville by providing school supplies, clothes, after-school homework assistance and other activities and services.
