Coggin is employed by the National HealthCare Corporation, Murfreesboro, as Corporate Vice President for Governmental, Rehabilitative, and Investor Relations. He is responsible for oversight of NHC's Managed Care Subacute and Rehab Programs. He is also responsible for investor and public relations for HNC, NHI, and NHR. Prior to his current position, he served as Regional Vice President for NHC's Central Region of Tennessee and Kentucky and Vice President of Government Services. Coggin has been employed with NHC in many other capacities since 1973. Prior to his employment with National HealthCare Corp., Coggin was a computer program analyst with First American National Bank, Nashville, and received training at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital, Knoxville, through the basic department for an acute care facility. Coggin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from David Lipscomb University; Master of Public Health in Health Planning and Administrator from University of Tennessee; and a Certificate of Nursing Home Administration from George Washington University. He is a licensed Tennessee Nursing Home Administrator and has licenses in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Coggin participates in various leadership roles in Rutherford County. He serves on the Board of Directors of Middle Tennessee Christian School and is an Elder at North Boulevard Church of Christ. He also serves on the board of The United Way of Rutherford County. Formerly, he was a board member of The Boy's and Girls Clubs, Murfreesboro. Coggin is a member of the Governors Home and Community Based Advisory Task Force for the Elderly and the Governor's TennCare Operations Roundtable. He is a Fellow in American College of Nursing Home Administrators and a member of the American Public Health Association.
