Lee Moss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Ben Weatherford, President, of MidSouth Bank (In Organization), Murfreesboro, has announced that Dan Decker has been named to the Board of Directors of the Bank.

Decker is a partner in Decker and Belt Company co-owned with Wayne Belt.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bryan College in Dayton Tennessee where he graduated with honors.

He started his career as a carpenter's assistant with Perry Brothers Construction Company, and in 1977 he formed Decker Construction Company. During the last 25 years, these companies have been involved in developing and building single family homes, condominiums, apartments and light commercial buildings in Middle Tennessee. In 1990, Decker expanded his business into the billboard sign industry with the formation of Decker Displays. This business grew steadily until 2001, when the majority of the company's assets were sold to Bressler Outdoor Advertising Company.

Decker has been actively involved in the community in various roles. He currently serves as an Elder at College Heights Chapel where he and his wife Trisha and family attend church. He and Trisha have three daughters, Sunshine (Mrs. Peter Burns), Summer, and Kady. In 1986 he was involved in the formation of the Pregnancy Support Center where he served as a board member for a number of years. Decker presently serves as Chairman of the Board of Horton Haven Christian Camp and is a board member of the Cedar Hall School in Christiana. He formerly served as a member of the City of Murfreesboro Salem Highway Planning Development Committee.

President Ben Weatherford stated, "We are elated to have Dan as an organizer and director of the Bank." "I have known him many years and believe that his business experiences and strong Christian values will provide valuable guidance and leadership for MidSouth Bank," Weatherford continued.

In early January, 2003, Jack Weatherford, Senior Chairman; Lee Moss, Chairman and CEO; and Ben Weatherford, President, of MidSouth Bank (In Organization) announced their intention of founding the new Bank. It will be headquartered in Murfreesboro and will likely be capitalized with at least $15 million raised by organizers from residents in Middle Tennessee. The initial plans for the new Bank include two offices in Murfreesboro and one in Smyrna/LaVergne area, but site locations have yet to be announced. The organization has set up an office to handle inquiries about the bank at 1138 Dow St. in Murfreesboro and can be reached at 494-4949.
