           Gintzig has been Chief Executive Officer and President of The Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC), Murfreesboro and Saint Thomas Health Services, Nashville since September 2002. Prior to his position with MTMC, Gintzig served as Chief Executive Officer and President of The Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic and Schuylkill Health Care Services, Inc. in Pennsylvania. Gintzig has been affiliated with several other health care facilities since completing his education in 1982.

           He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance at George Washington University, Washington, D. C. in 1979; Master of Business Administration in Accounting at GWU in 1981; and Post-Master's Hospital Administration Fellowship in GWU South Miami Hospital in 1982. While in college, he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, National Business Honor Society. Gintzig served as Captain, Medical Service Corps in the United States Naval Reserve as Director for Administration at a 500-bed Combat Zone Fleet Hospital. While in the military, Gintzig was a member of the Association of Military Surgeons of The United States.

           Among his many professional affiliations are the American College of Healthcare Executives; Heathcare Financial Management Assocation and American Academy of Medical Administrators.

           Gintzig served as past President of Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce in Pennsylvania, a board member of Schuylkill County Crippled Children Society; board member, Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation as was a member of Pottsville Rotary and Rotary International. He served on the boards of The Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, Schuylkill Health Care Services, Inc. and Schuylkill Rehabilitation Center, Inc. His current affiliations include board member of Children's Discovery Center, Boys and Girls Club, Rutherford County United Way and Rutherford County Primary Care and Hope Clinic.

           Gintzig, wife Lindy and two daughters are members of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
