Tony Hicks joins MidSouth Bank

       Lee Moss, chairman and chief executive officer, and Ben Weatherford, president, of MidSouth Bank (in organization) have announced that Charles A. "Tony" Hicks has joined the bank as vice president and office leader of the Smyrna office of the bank.

       Hicks received a business administration and human resources degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where he graduated summa cum laude. He began his banking career at SunTrust in 1990 and served in the La Vergne market for many years.

       Hicks is an active member of his community, having served as a former member of La Vergne Rotary Board of Directors and on the board of Smyrna/La Vergne Food Bank. He has been Minister of Music at Living Springs Baptist Church since 1998 and keyboard player for Temple Southern Gospel Quartet.

       He and his wife Jamie have two children, Madelyn and Brantley.

       "I have been fortunate in working with Tony for over 13 years, and it is an honor to have someone of Tony's integrity join the MidSouth Bank family," said Moss. "His proven success as a community banker, along with his Christian values and leadership ability, make him a valuable asset to our bank," he concluded.

       MidSouth Bank (in organization) has exceeded its initial goal of $15 million in stock subscriptions by more than 60 percent in little more than 3 1/2 months from the initial subscription date. In an attempt to better serve the business community by raising additional capital for increased loans, services and locations, the organizers of the bank have agreed to extend the subscription period through September or until the Commissioner of the State Department of Financial Institutions approves the bank's charter. Stock subscriptions may be obtained by visiting the new location in the educational wing of the former First United Methodist Church building at 220 N.
