    MIDSOUTH BANK (In Organization) Announces New Board Member, Frank Johns, Jr.

           Lee Moss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Ben Weatherford, President of MIDSOUTH BANK (In Organization), Murfreesboro, have announced that Frank Johns, Jr. has been named to the Board of Directors of the Bank.

           Johns is owner of Frank Johns Realty Company, a full-service real estate company providing brokerage, development and new home construction. He is a licensed General Contractor and Real Estate Broker. Prior to forming the realty company, he worked with his father and three brothers at A. F. Johns and Sons Homebuilding. Johns served in the United States Air Force where he attended flight school and graduated as single engine fighter pilot. After being stationed in Tokyo, he returned to Smyrna and served at Sewart AFB in the active reserves as a C-130 pilot.

           Johns received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Tennessee, College of Business Administration.

           He formerly served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the former First National Bank of Rutherford County and was president and charter member of the Rutherford County Homebuilders Association.

           Johns was a member of the Rutherford County Planning Commission; the Smyrna Planning Commission; and was a Smyrna Councilman for several years, serving as former Vice Mayor. He is a member of Sam David Lodge F. &. A. M., member and past president of Smyrna Rotary Club. He and wife Jewell are members of Smyrna First United Methodist Church. They have three children, Jamie Lee, Sanders Miller, and Andy Johns.

           "Frank's business, civic, and personal accomplishments are most impressive." stated Weatherford. "The knowledge and wisdom that he has acquired through his varied experiences, will translate well to his service on the MidSouth board." he continued. Weatherford said "We are privileged to have Frank as an organizer and director of the Bank."
    In early January, 2003, Jack Weatherford, Senior Chairman; Lee Moss, Chairman and CEO; and Ben Weatherford, President, of MIDSOUTH BANK (In Organization) announced their intention of founding the new Bank. It will be headquartered in Murfreesboro and will likely be capitalized with approximately $15 million raised by organizers from residents in Middle Tennessee. The initial plans for the new Bank include two offices in Murfreesboro and one in the Smyrna/LaVergne area, but site locations have yet to be announced. The organization has set up an office to handle inquiries about the Bank at 1138 Dow St. in Murfreesboro and can be reached at 494-4949.
