Martin, a graduate of Riverdale High School, received a bachelor of business administration degree with a major in economics in 1997, and a master of business administration degree with emphasis in management in 2000. Martin began his banking career at SunTrust Bank as a teller in 1994 while still in college. He held numerous positions with the bank until 1999, when he joined First Tennessee Bank in Murfreesboro. His most recent position prior to joining MidSouth Bank was financial center manager with First Tennessee. In addition to his career in banking, Martin finds time to serve his community through civic and community organizations. He is a member of the Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club and a graduate of the 2001-2002 Murfreesboro Citizens Police Academy. Martin was a national winner of the 1992 Chicago Board of Trade Commodity Challenge. He currently holds a real estate license and has previously held Series 6 & 63 variable contracts license and a life insurance license. Martin is a member of the Kappa Alpha Order where he served as vice president and Council of Honor Commander. He is a graduate of the 2008 class of Leadership Rutherford and has recently been ordained and presented credentials of ministry. Martin and his wife Cynthia have four children, Braley, Holland, Jarrett, and Kennedy. They live in the Lascassas community and have both been life long residents of Rutherford County. |
