Lee Moss, chairman and chief executive officer, and Ben Weatherford, president, of MidSouth Bank (in organization), Murfreesboro, have announced that Regina Medlen has joined the bank as vice president at the Smyrna Office.

Medlen graduated from Smyrna High School and attended MTSU with course emphasis in legal secretary training.

Medlen began her banking career at the former Third National Bank in Smyrna in 1982, and most recently served as branch manager of the Smyrna Office.

She has served her community well by participating in many civic and professional organizations. She is a graduate of the 2003 Leadership Rutherford class; former chairman for the Sam Davis Memorial Association Tour of Homes; former chairman of Smyrna Parks and Advisory Board; and current member of the Board of Directors of Smyrna Rotary Club. She, her husband Bobby and children Laurel and Andrea attend Smyrna First United Methodist Church.

"I have known Regina for many years and highly value her experience in providing her customers with outstanding service," said Moss.

"She believes in vesting time and effort to make her community a great place to work and live. We are very fortunate to have Regina join our bank and look forward to her commitment through her efforts in the Smyrna/La Vergne area," he said.

MidSouth Bank (in organization) has exceeded its initial goal of $15 million in stock subscriptions by more than 60 percent in little more than 3 1/2 months from the initial subscription date. In an attempt to better serve the business community by raising additional capital for increased loans, services and locations, the organizers of the bank have agreed to extend the subscription period through September or until the Commissioner of the State Department of Financial Institutions approves the bank's charter. Stock subscriptions may be obtained by visiting the new location in the educational wing of the former First United Methodist Church building at 220 N. Church St., or by calling the bank at (615) 278-7100. Additional information concerning MidSouth Bank (in organization) can be found on the Web at www.midsouthbanking.com.
