Miller was born in Murfreesboro and has lived in Rutherford County his entire life. He graduated from Smyrna High School and continued his higher education at Middle Tennessee State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis on Industrial Engineering. In addition to his busy career in banking, Miller finds time to serve his community through many civic and community organizations. He serves as a current Board of Director for Habitat for Humanity and is an officer of the Kiwanis Club of Murfreesboro. He is a Board Member of the Stones River Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Miller is a member of the Rutherford County Board of Realtors and the Tennessee Home Builders Association. He is a past board member of the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring; a graduate of Leadership Rutherford; past Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat; Boy's and Girl's Club basketball coach; and past member of the Tennessee Mortgage Bankers Association. Miller and his wife, Beth, have two children, Caroline and Davis. They are members of First United Methodist Church.
