Lee Moss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Ben Weatherford, President, of MIDSOUTH BANK (In Organization), Murfreesboro, have announced that Lisa Taylor has joined the Bank as Vice President.

       Taylor received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. Her emphasis was in marketing with minors in business and commercial art.

       Taylor began her banking career in 1981 at Murfreesboro Bank & Trust (now SunTrust) as a Teller and Financial Sales Consultant. Her career background includes responsibility for retail training, marketing support, relationship management in a key branch and personal banking initiative. In her last role she served as a Business Banking Relationship Manager. Taylor received the Distinguished Sales & Marketing Award sponsored by Sales & Marketing Executives of Nashville in 1994.

       Taylor’s community involvement includes being an active member of Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raider Athletic Association. She was a former board member of Heaven Sent Children and a member of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. She is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Rutherford and currently serves on the local United Way Allocation Panel. Taylor, husband, Terry, and son, Corey are members of the First United Methodist Church where she served as a past member of the Administrative Board and former Chair of the Finance Committee.

       In early January, 2003, Jack Weatherford, Senior Chairman; Lee Moss, Chairman and CEO; and Ben Weatherford, President, of MIDSOUTH BANK (In Organization) announced their intention of founding the new Bank. It will be headquartered in Murfreesboro and will likely be capitalized with at least $20 million raised by organizers from residents in Middle Tennessee. The initial plans for the new Bank include offices in Murfreesboro and in the Smyrna/LaVergne area, but site locations have yet to be announced.
