Terry was born in Madison, TN on December 28, 1972. He has been a resident of Murfreesboro since 1979. Terry graduated from Franklin Road Christian School as Valedictorian in 1991. He played on the soccer and basketball teams at Franklin Road Christian School and was voted most athletic by his senior class. Terry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Institutions Management from Middle Tennessee State University.

In 1997, Terry began his banking career at Nations Bank in Murfreesboro as a teller. Nations Bank later became Bank of America. Terry became a Personal Banker and Lender with Bank of America in 1999. In 2001, he entered the management training program and began managing the Hillwood Office for Bank of America in West Nashville. Terry served in that capacity until February of 2003 when he joined Cavalry Banking in Murfreesboro as the Branch Manager of their South Church Street Office. Cavalry Banking later became Pinnacle National Bank, and Terry continued in his management and lending roles until August 2008. Terry joined MidSouth Bank in September of 2008 as a Community Banker specializing in Commercial Lending.

Terry is a very active member of Franklin Road Baptist Church, where he is involved with Reformer's Unanimous, an addiction recovery program, sings in the choir, and is the song leader for the Hand in Hand couples class.

Terry was married to his wife Katie in March of 2003. They have 2 boys, Tripp (3) and Benjamin (2). Terry's favorite activity is spending time with his family. He also enjoys golfing and snow skiing.
