MidSouth Bank (In Organization) Announces New Board Members Article courtesy of the Daily News Journal April 2, 2003 Lee Moss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and Ben Weatherford, President, of MidSouth Bank (In Organization), Murfreesboro, have announced the current slate of organizers and directors of the Bank. These people are leaders in their professions and represent a diverse cross-section of industry in Rutherford County. The board members are Don Alexander, President, Alexander Ford Lincoln/Mercury and Alexander Chevrolet-Oldsmobile-Cadillac; Jimmy Allen, President of Venture Express; Gerald Coggin, Corporate Vice President, National HealthCare Corporation; Dan Decker, Partner, Decker and Belt Company; Percy E. Dempsey III; Partner, Dempsey, Vantrease, and Follis; John Floyd, Owner and President of Ole South Properties; Donald Gintzig, Chief Executive Officer and President, Middle Tennessee Medical Center; Frank Johns, Owner, Frank Johns Realty Company; Matt Murfree, Senior Partner, Murfree, Cope, Hudson & Scarlett, Attorneys-At-Law; Beth O'Brien, Managing Broker; Coldwell Banker Snow and Wall; Bob Parks, Owner, The Parks Group; George Smith, M.D., Partner, Private Family Practice; and Greg Waldron, Owner, Waldron Enterprises. "It is important to have organizers and directors who live and work in different geographic sections of this community," stated Ben Weatherford, President. "We believe this has been accomplished considering that Murfreesboro, Smyrna and Lavergne communities are represented on this board," he continued. "These directors are people who have exhibited throughout their careers that they are committed to this community both professionally and civically." In early January, 2003, Jack Weatherford, Senior Chairman; Lee Moss, Chairman and CEO; and Ben Weatherford, President, of MidSouth Bank (In Organization) announced their intention of founding the new Bank. It will be headquartered in Murfreesboro and will likely be capitalized with at least $15 million raised by organizers from residents in Middle Tennessee. The initial plans for the new Bank include two offices in Murfreesboro and one in Smyrna/LaVergne area, but site locations have yet to be announced.
